Farewell from the BetterTogether Challenge Team
…and it’s a wrap! As the USAID-supported BetterTogether / JuntosEsMejor Challenge solver efforts come to an end, we would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our innovators for their wonderful work to improve the lives of thousands of Venezuelans and their host communities impacted by the regional crisis.
Since its launch in late 2019, the BetterTogether / JuntosEsMejor Challenge has supported 32 innovators working across 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, including inside Venezuela. These innovators were selected for their commitment to empowering Venezuelans for a more inclusive and self-reliant future. In just a year and a half of implementation, our innovators have impacted more than half a million people —including migrants, their families, and host communities— through education, economic growth, gender equality, and food security, helping them become more resilient to the challenges faced by migrant populations —such as risk of violence, lack of employment opportunities, language barriers, xenophobia, etc.
To support the closing of the USAID Challenge grantees, and transition to IDB-supported ones, we will be holding a final online event this month on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10:00am EST. It will showcase the impact of a select group of Challenge innovators to date, supporting opportunities for future investment and expansion of funding. Please stay tuned to our social media channels and website for more information on how to register to attend the event.
Although we bid adieu for now, we invite you to keep your eye on 👉USAID’s @GlobalDevLab and @USAIDLAC channels starting in March 2022, for future USAID-supported efforts, as we continue to promote breakthrough solutions that tackle the world's most intractable developmental challenges. Give us a follow and stay tuned!
