International Youth Foundation

Key Results

  • 150 women participated in the bootcamp
  • 100% of women who completed the program demonstrated an increase in at least one core competency
  • 100% of women who completed the program demonstrated technical knowledge acquisition and met the criteria of the Google IT Support Professional course certification

Overview

The International Youth Foundation (IYF) partnered with a local Panamanian NGO, Consejo del Sector Privado para la Asistencia Educacional (COSPAE), to help Venezuelan migrant women gain information technology (IT) skills while addressing the lack of market-relevant technical and soft skills. The initiative, dubbed Conectadas 4.0, involved a partnership with Google to support online IT certification and connect jobseekers with concrete job opportunities for Venezuelan migrant women aged 18 to 30.  This holistic approach built upon successful efforts that IYF implemented previously in Colombia and Mexico. By supporting women to secure formal careers in the tech sector, the program also helped participants develop self-reliance, resilience, and earning potential.
