Meet the BetterTogether Challenge winners!

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) announced approximately $1.8 million for BetterTogether Challenge awards to benefit Venezuelans and their host communities in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. The awards will provide solutions that will increase access to jobs, education, and financial services, and combat exploitation and xenophobia.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced $1.17 million for five BetterTogether Challenge awards to directly benefit Venezuelans in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.  

The awardees will provide critical solutions to improve access to food, education, and employment opportunities, as well as promote entrepreneurship, social cohesion, and women’s economic empowerment. 

The awards implemented in Venezuela are funded by USAID.

July 7, 2020: USAID announced the first four BetterTogether Challenge innovation awards. These are the first awards by the BetterTogether Challenge, a partnership between the USAID and the Inter-American Development Bank. BetterTogether is a global initiative to crowdsource, fund, and scale innovative solutions to support Venezuelans and communities hosting them across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The awards implemented in Venezuela are funded by USAID.
